Below are a collection of mental health resources that are available at no cost to you as a local resident.

The Crisis Intervention Centre is a community mental health program located at Quinte Health Care’s Belleville General Hospital. The Crisis Team is available to any adult (16 years +) experiencing a psychiatric, emotional, psychosocial or situational crisis requiring an immediate, short-term intervention. The staff are also knowledgeable about the range of community resources available and are able to make referrals or provide information as needed. You may call directly and do not require a doctor’s referral.

Specific Psychologists in Ontario are offering online pro-bono therapy services to frontline healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Canadian Psychological Association holds a directory of all those currently offering this service. Please consult the directory for those Psychologists offering this service in Ontario, to inquire whether they are accepting new clients.

Togetherall Is a peer-to-peer platform where you can connect with others who experience similar feelings. There are trained professionals on hand, 24/7. Anonymity is assured.

In addition to an online forum, the website includes resources, like self assessments, goal setting, articles, and self-help courses on subjects including sleep, anger management, ptsd, addiction, bereavement, anxiety and depression.

Wellness Together Canada was set up as part of the Governments COVID-19 response to address people’s mental health. The website offers one to one counselling, crisis support, self help courses, and an online community for support and coaching. 

AbilitiCBT is an internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) program delivered by trained professionals. Cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the most effective forms of therapy. It works by helping you understand and change the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are causing you problems. iCBT is an internet-based form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) that uses online education, videos and assignments guided by a therapist assigned to you.

WES for Youth Online offers a free online counselling service for youth to connect with a professional and qualified counsellor by self referral. Young people can explore the issues that they are facing in a secure and online environment. Two methods of communication are offered within the secure portal; email to email and live chat.

BounceBack is a free, guided self-help program effective in helping adults and youth 15+ manage low mood, mild to moderate depression, anxiety, stress or worry. Through telephone coaching and a selection of skill-building workbooks to choose from, participants can customize their own program, learn ways to overcome their symptoms and improve their mental well-being now and in the future.
